Nyepi Day in Bali

Nyepi the day of Silence on the Hindu calender that commemorates the New Year for the Saka in Bali, falls on 5^th March this year so if you are in Bali on this date this is what you should expect:

• If you are a tourist at this time you are expected to stay in your Bali Hotel or Villa
• Hotels have an agreement with the community that daily operations can continue for the day but be sure that the guests are not to go out side the hotel grounds.
• For the Community in general on Nyepi day there is to be no cooking, no lights used, no entertainment, and you must stay in doors until 6am the following day.
• The Airport is closed
